Pirate Den
by Laura
Hi My 5 year old is obsessed with pirates he likes to dress as one and its quite funny when we call him for breakfast with his hat and eye patch, children dont you just love them. So my husband and I decided to make him a pirate den in his bed room which he loves, which i wanted to share its very easy to make and I hope you will have a go if you have a child interested in pirates. We used 2 large boxes 1 large box for treasure 3 plain white sheets 1 long lenght wooden dowel this is for the flag pole baking foil gold shiny paper assorted chunky crayons and a good few hours ( for making the treasure) Then your set place the sheets into the bottom of the open boxes and the start to make your flag pole using one of the sheets making a cross and crossbones which my husband was excellent at I must say. Then my son helped make the treasure using coins rubbing this using the foil and shiny paper and mum then sat cutting these out. Place your treasure into the large box and we got our son to colour the boxes using chunky crayons. Also we made a treasure map which my son enjoyed doing, also using any left over card board we made a sword and again my son enjoyed using the crayons to colour his sword. So I hope you enjoy having a go it keeps my son busy and he loves his special den. |
