living room pirate treasure hunt
by Melissa
I play this with my daughter who is just gone two and a half. We make and colour in a pirate treasure map but we instead of having regular landmarks we put on the main features of our living and dining room, i.e. sofa, dining table, tv, plus any of her toys that are out. Once we have done this we search for the 'treasure' which is generally a bowl of coins or sometimes chocolate coins or some sweets as a treat. I tell her where to go and what to go past and whether she is close to the treasure yet. we also use pirate voices when we remember. Then once the treasure is found she hides it and guides me round the room instead. Its good for teaching to follow instructions. |
